CURRENT WORK

Gallant and the 6 metres

Jespersen Boatbuilders is now working on several projects.The refit of Sprite V, a Canoe Cove TD53 is progressing well. Her interior accommodations have been completely redesigned and are now in the process of reconstruction.

Another project underway is the Paul Gartside designed 42' sailboat, Zulu. Her hull has been cold-moulded of red and yellow cedar, and her interior is now being fitted.

"Zulu" is a Paul Gartside designed 42' sailboat. Her hull was cold-moulded using red cedar and epoxy.

After initial construction, the hull is faired and sealed inside and out.

Bulkheads and floor timbers are then installed.

Once the cabin sides are complete, the hull is rolled from the shop.

The hull is then rolled over with a crane...

...and ready to return to the shop for finishing.

The walk-through transom and cockpit framing take shape.

"Zulu" features two separate cockpits: the forward one for seating, and the aft, for steering, with port and starboard wheels and central winches.

Boarding ladder will stow away in a compartment in the transom.

All the fun of fairing the hull for paint.
